Im trying to run monkey island through steam and I have to install sp2005 and xact using winetricks. (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19340)
I used to be able to do this ok when I was using wine alone but since moving to pol im unsure how to install winetricks on different prefixes (asuuming thats how its done).

Can anyone tell me how its done? Also ive tried install pol helper but I cant get it to do anything

i asked a specific question " how do i use winetricks with different prefixes"

i then threw in at the end "pol helper doesnt work for me" to stop people from pointing me to that.

well seeing as you wrote POL helper perhaps you could help me anyway.

I was looking for a manual way of doing it rather than trying to make POL helper work.

Ive extracted POL helper to the plugins directory, enabled it in the plugins manager restarted POL and theres no change. no new menus or anything. Ive tried running POL helper from the exe file in the bin directory but nothing happens. it is set as executable.
