I think there would already exist a script for that game if anyone of the "script-writers" had the game.
If you think you can follow the instructions at that page and tell us how it goes we maybe can try to make a script from your description.

Winetricks can be used if you install this great plugin called POL-helper. If you don't have Windows I recommend you to download the dll from this site. They are well known and trusted. The tool called regedit is used in POL by right-clicking on the application and choose "Registry Editor".
