Description, steps to reproduce:

I can no longer get Steam to run under POL.  A Steam update has broken all versions of WINE.  The bug has been fixed in Wine v2.12-staging, but there's no way to add this version to POL.

Exactly my problem, how to implement wine 2.12 (staging) into play on mac to fix; can't figure it out!

Ok, I managed to get Wine 2.12-staging installed as the system default, and I figured out how to use "System" with Wine in POL.  Doing this, Steam will run.  However, the game I was playing (Fallout:  New Vegas) won't run under Wine 2.12, it needs 1.8-staging.

Is this bug going to be addressed?  I really don't want to dual boot Windows.

Staging 2.12 is avaible.

We also have added a version called fix43315 that should fix the problem

Hi, I have the same problem with playonlinux. When I try to launch steam, I get this answer: Error in main. Steam crashed. Is it the same problem?

2.12fix works, but multiplayer does not.

I have implemented the 2.12 fix, both using Wine Staging and using the patched version thru PoM. Steam will now run, however multiplayer does not work. It seems everyone who has done this fix has said the same.
