Hi. I try to install Steam via POL script, but I have error at installation time:

err:module:load_builtin_dll failed to load .so lib for builtin L"winebus.sys": libudev.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
err:winedevice:async_create_driver failed to create driver L"WineBus": c0000142

And when I try to launch installed Steam.exe it crashes.

playonlinux.log

Tested POL: 4.2.12

Tested wine: 2.11, System (1.6.2)

Linux Mint 18.2 x64

I tried this solution, but it doesn't work for me.

Does anybody have ideas?

Thanks.

You need to use wine 2.12 staging. I'm using linux mint 18.2 as well. So you can try the following solution.

1. Install wine 2.12 staging

https://wine-staging.com/installation.html

2. Switch your wine version in playonlinux to use "system". After switching, you can confirm by configure wine --> about, to make sure you are using the latest 2.12 staging.

If this is confusing to you, just wait playonlinux to update its wine library to 2.12 staging.

I just confirmed that Windows Steam now runs in Wine 2.12-staging and stable 2.0.1
