When I try to start the program Notenkraker it will not launch, as it used to do before. Launching from a terminal produces this output:

Looking for python... 2.7.15rc1 - wxversion(s): 3.0-gtk3
selected

(wrapper.py:16031): Gtk-WARNING **: 10:53:30.531: Theme parsing error: gtk-widgets.css:1214:18: Not using units is deprecated. Assuming 'px'.

[POL_Wine] Message: Running wine- Notenkraker 2.5.exe %F (Working directory : /home/marien/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/Notenkraker/drive_c/Program Files/Notenkraker 2.51)
[POL_Wine] Message: Notice: PlayOnLinux deliberately disables winemenubuilder. See http://www.playonlinux.com/fr/page-26-Winemenubuilder.html

The problem seems to be with winemenubuilder, which for some reason seems to be 'deliberately disabled', but the link only leads to a 404 Error. Searching the documentation or this forum could not help me any further either. The winemenubuilder.exe component is installed in /drive_c/windows/system32 and has 0775 permissions.

My system:

  • KDE neon 5.15.3 (Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic) / KDE 5.15 / Qt 5.12 / Kernel 4.15
  • AMD A6-5400K Dual Core / 16GB DDR3-1866 / AMD Radeon HD6450 + radeon driver / HDD SATA 1TB
  • POL 4.3.4 / Wine 3.0

Any suggestions where to look for a solution?

You are right the URL goes to nowhere. I searched the forums and the web, but I don't know why Winemenubuilder was disabled nor why the link disapeared from the forums.

Are you doing a manual installation or using a .POL script ? (if a .POL script, please copy/paste it here).

I managed to find an old copy of the page on web.archive.org:
https://web.archive.org/web/20180917064900/https://www.playonlinux.com/fr/page-26-Winemenubuilder.html

It says:

Winemenubuilder message

PlayOnLinux and PlayOnMac deliberately disables winemenubuilder.exe.so, so that the program can control more easily the wine version assigned to each shortcut.

If you want to force PlayOnLinux to enable winemenubuilder, add the following line into $HOME/.PlayOnLinux/configurations/custom (Linux) or $HOME/Library/PlayOnMac/configurations/custom (Mac OS)

Sortie de la console :

export WINEDLLOVERRIDES=""

However, that didn't work for me :/
