Hi!

I've pre-ordered the standalone PC version of this game and can't get it to work.

PC specs: Gigabyte Z270 Gaming K3, i5 7600K, 16GB RAM, GTX 1070; running Ubuntu 18.04.

The game starts but crashes immediately at the loading screen with an illegal read operation.

I could get many titles to work in Lutris and Steam, so I have some experience with wine now, but I can't really find any debugging guides and the crash report is too vague.
I generally love programming, so I'm not afraid to go the extra mile.

Could someone please help me to find a way to run this game?

What  is ootp_21 ?.

ootp_21 is the name of the wineprefix. OOTP 21 is Out of the Park Baseball 21.

(That is the only proper link for 21, as the home for OOTP still describes version 20.)

Note: I did a bit of searches without success (on http://bing.com  "fixme:wintrust:" site:winehq.org   ).

Wine ends by crashing...   very bad news, I don't known what to do.
In Appdb.winehq.org I see that there was Linux native releases for this game.

Yeah, I only noticed the native version after I already bought the PC/Mac standalone one.

The game has a trace mode which generates logs as it loads. It seems that it should unpack files, but it doesn't.

7zip is installed and I have associated the filetypes with it inside the wineprefix, so that is not the issue.

So frustrating to keep failing to get the answer right, without even knowing the question.
