When I try to install Borderlands from the DVD it gives me the error: Internal error: Invalid parameters received. I click OK, then it just has up the install screen but nothing ever happens. Thanks in advance.

Bump. I'd really like to play this game again.

Hello. I am new to Linux and this is my first ever post on a Linux forum.

I have the same problem, although when I do it I get two installation screens. When I try to use one, I get the same error as you, and when I use another, I get a different error. I would also appreciate any help.

Be sure to use PlayOnLinux version 4.1.x then submit a bug report, because so far neither of you provided any useful information to understand what's going on.

Thank you for your reply, but I think I had enough linux for the moment, unfortunately.

Hello, I'm having the same issue as Ognid. Perhaps I can provide a bit more info:

This error "Internal error - Invalid parameters received" happens right when the Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable is run by the installer.

It also seems, from what I can tell, to be specific to x64 systems.

Any additional advise petch?

update:

I was able to install by killing the vb c++ process using the task manager. This is what was hanging the install, and was recommended on the appdb page. However, now there is a new error:

I got past that by switching to a different No-DVD patch, but now the game crashes if I try to change the resolution from 640 x 480. I tried manually setting it in the willowengine.ini file, and now the resolution I set appears as that resolution in game, but the resolution is actually displaying at 640 x 480.

The crash it gives reports a file not found error pointing to the exe file for program files (x86) etc. etc.
