Hello all!

I installed the Steam version of Skyrim, and I'm having an issue with it.  The window comes up where you can select Play, but when I select Play, Skyrim fails to launch.  In the debug window, this is what comes up at that point:

err:module:import_dll Library X3DAudio1_7.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Steam\\\\SteamApps\\\\common\\\\Skyrim\\\\TESV.exe") not found
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Steam\\\\SteamApps\\\\common\\\\Skyrim\\\\TESV.exe" failed, status c0000135

If there's any other information I need to give, please let me know.  Any idea how to fix this?

Hi,

For the first problem, try installing the xact component
(Configure button > select virtual drive > Install components tab > xact)

I'm surprized the install script didn't take care of that, though.

No...it doesn't. :/

The Skyrim install script installs Steam, vcrun2008 and d3dx9...but not xact.
That's a problem...should happen automatically actually...for those who don't quite know what to do, but want it to automagically work...or something.

dxfullsetup installs it...so...I should add that to the Skyrim script...

Sweet! Thanks for posting problems on Skyrim. I still have not installed it, but plan to

The Skyrim script from the Pol Install window worked perfectly for me last night, installed Steam, from within which I installed Skyrim, which ran (for the first time for me) perfectly.

Yes, it should do that very fine. Installation from the disk is another can of annoying worms. :P :(

Ugh, don't say that... I have the DVD retail copy!
I'll post my results when I finally try it out

In the current script, I had it linking to s: instead of e: but then to my horror I discovered that Steam/Skyrim WANTS to be linked to e: for some absurd reason or it would just hang forever not doing anything at that part of the script...do not ask me why. :P

Just copy that into a blank text file, save it and run it from PlayOnLinux as a local script. Hopefully petch will review it soon...

And the script should run fine.

If not...for any reason, go to the Script section of the Bugs page and search for Skyrim. Post issues there.
