Double Speed Sound

I'm running Ubuntu 13.04 with wine 1.5.29. Through this I'm playing LOTRO. I was having problems in that game so through q4wine and winetricks I installed soundalsa.drv for my LOTRO Prefix.

That fixed LOTRO but now every PlayOnLinux game is running double speed sound. Specifically I'm trying to play Sam & Max Season 1 and I tried out Magicka installed through PlayOnLinux Steam. Both games (different POL wine prefixes) are running double speed sound.

This is not impacting "The Longest Journey" which is not installed in POL but installed using the wine 1.5.29 also in it's own prefix. The difference here? soundpulse.drv.

And LOTRO sound is still fine. It is not double speed, this seems to have only affected my POL alsa configs.

Please help!

Thats one of the reasons that we do not support winetricks or anything else like that. You could have done that through POL. Do the reverse of what you did to get soundalsa installed, and if that doesnt work, you need to back up your saved games, delete ~/.PlayOnLinux, and reinstall your games.

Dont mix q4wine or winetricks with POL installs. They are not needed, as POL has the same functions, and as you can see, they cause problems. lol

I'm sorry I was misunderstood. I didn't do anything to the POL directories. I used q4wine and winetricks with my ~/.wine and the ~/.local/share/wineprefixes directories. I never ever use external tools on my .PlayOnLinux directories specifically from that fear that I would mess up what the POL scripts have already done. Unfortunately the Beta POL LOTRO scripts don't work so I have LOTRO installed outside of POL.

Would using winetricks on my non-POL wine directories have an impact on POL? I was thinking I more messed up my ALSA config. Unfortunately I can't find any .asoundrc files to check.

I did end up just deleting my POL home directory and now things seem to be normal with the one or two games just tried. If I continue to have any issued, I'll update the thread, but for now, thank your for your help!
