I follow the instructions to install playonlinux for trusty - I am using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

I type wget -q "http://deb.playonlinux.com/public.gpg" -o- sudo apt-key add -

new prompt, I type sudo wget http://deb.playonlinux.com/playonlinux_trusty.list -o /etc/apt/sources.list.d/playonlinux.list

terminal replies:

E: Type '--2016-10-12' is not known on line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/playonlinux.list
E: The list of sources could not be read.

I note  that 2016-10-12 is the current date - perhaps the list format has changed? Is there an updated process to install the dependencies?

 

observing  the playonlinux.list document in the sources.list.d directory, I seee what looks like a log document with date and time, but it is not a list of files.
