Path of exile install failure

Dear community,

I am trying to install path of exile through POL in my Mint 17.3 system (64 bit Cinnamon with NVidia drivers).  My playonlinux installation comes directly from the mint repository, version 4.2.2.

I find the path of exile software on the list of supported software, click on install and playonlinux creates the virtual drive and tries to execute the msi file.  However, this fails immediately and throws "Error in POL_Wine, wine seems to have crashed" error.  When I go to the debugger for the drive, I get the following (I have replaced my username with xxxx for privacy):

[08/05/17 11:08:23] - Running wine-1.7.55 --version (Working directory : /usr/share/playonlinux/python)

The only fixme has something to do with ntdll but I do not know enough about wine to be able to do anything.  If you have any suggestions on what is wrong and how to fix it, please let me know.

Try using latest wine-STAGING (2.13-staging at the moment)- >http://wiki.playonlinux.com/index.php/Managing_Wine_Versions

The problem is that since path of exile is supported software, POL itself chooses the "right" wine version and creates the virtual drive automatically to install that software.  I do not get to choose the drive or any settings; I just locate path of exile on the list of supported software and POL determines the settings, drive etc.  Once the drive is there (with the install failed) I cannot "choose" it; trying to reinstall prompts me to overwrite the drive, delete the drive or abort installation.

Yeah, I know, but I ask you  to change the wine version, to see if with latest wine the problem still occur.

You can also get a FULL log from wine. Go to Configure-> select the program in the list (left)-> Various (or someting like that) (at the right)-> Open a terminal. Then you use cd command to go to the directory of the .exe of POE and then :

 wine "myfile".exe &>log.txt

And you give me te content of log.txt

Some update of an app can break compatibily. The script has been written at a certain time, and at this time 1.7.55 was a good option.

after downloading latest wine, you can change the used wine version in Configure-> select the program in the list (left) -> Wine version
