Hello, I am thinking about replacing my ancient windows desktop pc with a Mac Mini. Since I already have a monitor, this seems to be the best value for money Mac.
Amazon and Best Buy have the base M2 model on sale for 499. This comes with 256 gb ssd and 8gb of ram.
My question is if whether it is worth it to upgrade to 16 gb of RAM , which I can find for 749 $ https://speedtest.vet/ .
My use case would be mostly office work and browsing, but I would like to be able to do some light (mostly strategy) gaming, for instance Civilization 6 and Paradox games like Stellaris, CK3.
Does the extra RAM make a big difference in everyday use and/or gaming in your experience ?
And would it be wiser to wait until the M3 chip comes out for Mac Mini, or is the difference for gaming negligible between M2 and M3 ?
