I'm having some trouble being able to use the voice chat feature which is built into Steam. I can connect to a voice chat with friends and hear them speak, but I'm unable to speak back. When I go to "Steam -> Settings -> Voice" menu, it says "No recording device detected". There is a button labeled "Change device...", which, when clicked, gives a steam message box saying "The windows audio control panel is now open. Hit 'OK' when you're finished changing settings." When this message comes up, there is no other window available to change settings. There is also a "Detect Audio Devices" button in this same Steam Voice options tab which doesn't seem to do anything.
I've tried a few different settings from the wine configuration screen, Audio tab, but nothing seems to make any audio device show in the Steam application.
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 with cinnamon desktop, Wine 1.3.37, which shows the audio driver as "winealsa.drv". I have a sound blaster Live! sound card, and also a Logitech "Quickcam Pro 9000" with a built in mic, which I have tried to set both as the audio device, but nothing ever seems to be recognized.
