             | I had the same problem, I was using my own custom installation of LoL. Then I installed it from testing applications. I let playonlinux do all the things, I used LeagueOfLegends2 (didn't test others) and suddenly the launcher could be opened and now I can play (better than before).   versions: wine 1.6.2, playonlinux 4.2.4, xubuntu 14.04   |

             |  I did an fresh install so it works BUT the problem is still accurs when I change any settinges in the display tab of the game virtual driver for example booman :Direct Draw Rendering: opengl
 Video Memory size: 1024
 Offscreen rendering mode: fbo
or change any settinges in the wine configuration-> graphics tab. like : checking  emulate a virtual desktop :) strange |

             | When I did my fresh install like I said before, I changed normally my settings in the display tab. But I haven't change anything in wine (when emulating a virtual desktop you can't alt+tab in game, so it's bad for me) |

             | Omraf - So LoL runs fine until you makea display change in PlayOnLinux Configure... that is very strange.  Just leave Direc Draw and Offscreen rendering to default.  The only one I change these days is Memory.  But make sure to change it before launching the game.  Maybe this will help.   Oldx - Instead of Alt+Tab, try Ctrl+Alt+Arrows to switch to another desktop.  This way you can go back-n-forth between programs |
