Native does not always equal working or the best option/performance

I don't know why but whenever I see a game say 'native', everyone's happy and just gives it an immediate good rating on places like Protondb. The truth is, just because it works on Linux, it doesn't mean it's best ran natively. I have a few games that get worse performance and more bugs on the Linux native ports than when using Proton. https://19216801.onl/

Take 7 Days to Die for example. 7 Days to Die is slightly choppy on the Linux port but it's absolutely playable. But I get better frames, performance in general when loading in POIs, etc when using the Proton version of the game. Less stuttery and funnily enough, more FPS than on Windows (for this game specifically).

This post wasn't meant to be a gripe or rant against people who leave reviews for games just for the sole fact that it's native, or the fact that there's no way to see if the game runs better on Proton (without trying it yourself) on Protondb. I want to know if there's any other games out there that have native ports but are better on Proton.
