Oh, the places you'll go...

I'm not a heavy gamer these days, but my gaming rig has been running Fedora for a while now. I recently started playing Halo Infinite and it has run like a charm. Well, mostly. The most glaring issue is that I cannot seem to access any of the customization options in the game. The assets just won't load. I did some reading online and discovered that some people resolved this issue by enabling Above 4G Decoding and Resizable BAR support in their BIOS settings. Easy day.

After I got home from work, I rebooted my computer and started digging through my BIOS settings. It turns out that CSM needs to be disabled in order to enable the two settings I need. And here comes the rain. Presumably because I had CSM enabled when I installed Fedora, my Fedora installation would not boot with it disabled; the boot drive wouldn't even show up as a device in the BIOS. https://9apps.ooo/

So, I spent the vast majority of my day troubleshooting. I decided to boot into a live USB of Fedora with CSM disabled to create an EFI partition and chroot into my Fedora installation to set it up for booting with CSM disabled. Ultimately, I couldn't get it to work and am now reinstalling Fedora.

Halo Infinite will have to wait until tomorrow.
