Hey, ive seen this question asked like 20 times, when I try to install tf2 everything works great, until it asks for my steam user id. It then says "Incorrect user name." Please help !!!

Nothing in AppDB confirm this bug, i've tested steam with some Source Engine games, it worked...Does this "bug" affect only TF2 ? Do you have other steam games to test ?
I only have HL2, HL2-EP1 and Portal and all 3 worked so be sure your steam ID is alive and working and test keyboard locale when entering ID, just in case.

Ive tried half life 2, and same error. I also tried a freinds steam id and the same error occured, although im now experimenting with the auto run feature in hopes of it working.

It didnt work with autorun. :(

Assign lasted wine version to your POL prefix for TF2 and check if it's better.

Still saying incorrect user name when I try to log in when after it tells me, I must load team fortress too the starting screen and then continue. T.T im going to record the process and upload it to youtube give me a couple minutes, also thank you for the help. Edytowane przez Axfan
