Hello! I'd like to thank everyone in advance for any assistance I recieve.

 

So, I've been playing Starcraft II: HotS without issue using the CSMT patch for a while now. Today, Blizzard released a patch that changed a lot of graphical settings. Here is the link to the patch:

I began recieving the following error:

I shall provide version information as well as hardware specs below. If any additional information is required I will be more than happy to provide it!

 

- POL v4.2.9

- Wine v1.7.52-staging (CSMT enabled / amd64)

- I'm using these settings to icrease performance. http://snag.gy/iyUR8.jpg

- OS: Linux Mint 17.2 64bit

- AMD Radeon HD 7770 Ghz Edition

- AMD Catalyst Driver v15.9 (support for OpenGL 4.4.13374)

- Intel I5 - 3350p

 

Just to reiterate, everything worked fine with these settings until the patch was released. With that said, can anyone recommend any solutions? Or will I have to wait for a WINE patch?

Does installing "VideoDriver" pseudo-component help?

Configure button > (select virtual drive) > Install components tab > VideoDriver > Install

It will store your videocard PCI ids in the Wine registry (with PlayOnLinux 4.2.8+, there was a bug in older versions), and Wine itself (maybe some apps too?) can use that to lookup for card specifications in an internal table, hopefully helping with that kind of issue (I'm not 100% sure it does). Also the internal table is updated from version to version, so using a recent Wine version may help.

If it doesn't I guess it will indeed require a Wine patch, assuming your video drivers already expose vertex shaders 3.0...

I had this same problem and I fixed it by modifying a registry key. Set HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D\UseGLSL to "enabled" without the quotes.

Use the command "regedit" to fix it. Make sure you are in the correct WINE prefix or bottle.

No need to resort to regedit, Configure button > (select virtual drive) > Display tab > GLSL Support

I'm surprized if it makes any difference though, it should be the default

Enabling GLSL results in an unexpected error, and crashes upon launching the game from the battlenet client.

 

Installing "Video Driver" yeilds no results unfortunately.

Here the same problem.

If I "enable" GLSL, B.NET desktop shows fine, but SC2 goes slow and graphics are broken and goes unplayable. I need GLSL "disabled", the B.NET window is black, but SC2 works fine all. As we had before PATCH 3.0, a playable game.
