Shortcut not on desktop

I have Ubuntu Gnome 17.04.  I have tried to create a shortcut for the desktop.  It says, 'shortcut is now on desktop', but nothing appears.  Help.

Try navigating there with Nautilus:  /home/username/Desktop

Maybe its just hidden.  If not, try creating the shortcut again.

PlayOnLinux keeps a copy of all shortcuts in:  /home/username/.PlayOnLinux/shortcuts
