My dream has always been to play team fortress 2 on mac. But since Catalina, I cannot play it since it is not upgraded to 64 bits. POM is not my first attempt at doing this, but i have managed to go deeper and have more progress than before. I might want to make a timeline of what i have done for now

I watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYom6i2CDec&t=313s. And decided to follow it.

I did well at start, but things startet getting bad.

Im not sure what details i need to say so I will just lsist. a very detailed timeline of events. I will write in bold those that i think are the most important

clicked install> searched for steam, and clicked install. It takes me to the installation wizard welcome tab

Then it says "Please choose a virtual drive name"

I don't fully understand what this means, but when i write any name and click select it takes me to "please wait while the virtual drive is being created"

Then it tells me the first weird message:

"macOS Catalina user: 32bits wine versions are no longer available. We are going to use the system wine version instead"

Again," please wait while the virtual drive is being created"

And Then it says: "Microsoft fonts aren't installed; I'll install them for you.

I agree to the terms and conditions and then it starts downloading. It gets stuck in tahoma32.exe.

But under the most recent comment section in the video, it says this:

p.s. if ur download stops at tahoma font, just restart the installation and turn off your internet connection when it asks you to instal font, after it tells u theres an error turn the connection back on and continue with the installation

I clikced on cancel and do all again and when it says microsoft fonts arent installed, i disconnected my ethernet cable. and then said this

"Warning !!

The signature on the script you are trying to run is NOT valid

PlayOnMac has not approved this script and will not be responsible from it.

Please ensure you know what you are doing!" (I do not know what im doing)

I click on next and It says:

Here is the source code of the script. Check it carefully

And its just a blank text box.

I click on "I agree" and it starts installing steam, but then I get a sad emoji with the error message:

"PlayOnMac has encountered an error. If the program you are installing does no" (its cut off, even when i resize the window)"

"Visit www.playonmac.com to get further information"

And a error text saying:

"Error in POL_Wine
Wine seems to have crashed

If your program is running, just ignore this message"

but in fact the program is not running nor on the playonmac menu. And im not quite sure if its supposed  to say "POL_Wine" when im on POM.

And when I click next it takes me to another error message but the box now says:

"Error in POL_Shortcut
Binary not found: Steam.exe
Have you installed the program to the default location?"

I click next once again and it says:

"If you want to install Steam in another virtual drive, you can run this installer ag-"  (cut off again)

and when i click next it takes me back to the POM menu.

Now im going to provide information about the device in case some of it helps.

-I have a 13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports with 8 gb of ram.

-My mac has low battery health, so it only works when connected to power, I like to call it "Computer in life support"

-My mac has had an historial of faulty ram.

-I live in the UAE, where certain websites are blocked.

-I have 30.1 GB available, and im willing to sacrifice any apps in exchange of finnally playing tf2.

-I havent installed wine before, so im not that sure if playonmac includes it.

-English is not my main language, so it's going to be even harder to understand this Linux/github/terminalForum English dialect. But i will try to  reaserch about the terms you all say.

I hope I get lucky and I will be increadibly greatfull if any of yall help me, since when i say that playing TF2 is my dream, i mean that I DREAM IT. I can recall like three times of dreaming that i finnally figure out how to emulate tf2 on mac, waking up to realize that it was humanly possible to be envious of your dream self.

Hech i even took a break writing this post once in a while to daydream about finnally doing it.

And if it ends up being impossible, at least i can still play tf2 roblox bootlegs.

Hey bro! I have experienced exactly the same troubles, but with playonmac. Being trying to play my Left 4 Dead 2 on mac, which doesn't support 32 bit games anymore. Did you solve your problem? Perhaps, I might use your advice on my case.

Hi, I have also recently installed playonmac, and I have the exact same problems. I also want to play tf2! I tried to install other windows applications like notepad++ but that also doesn't work, meaning that there is probably something wrong with installing applications, not just steam. Please reply if you have found a solution!
