Hello,
I would like to share applications between Users to avoid re-installing them several times and kill disk space for nothing. Understand by this that currently my machine is used by several Users (wife and children).
As example I tried to apply this to WOW that both my wife and me play.
So what I did is pretty simple. I thought to move wineprefix and wine folders to a neutral place (outside of User profile) and use symlink to make it work from User's place.
I created a /home/PlayOnLinux folder and copy wine binary under wine/ and WorldOfWarcraft under wineprefix/ (I initially installed WoW from my wife's profile as I generally play from my Mac).
Finally I add into my own .PlayOnLinux/ folder the symlink for wine versions under wine/ and to the WorldOfWarcraft folder under wineprefix/
The /home/PlayOnLinux folder is owned by root and a group called "playonlinux" that have two members: my wife and me. This is to avoid any permissions issues when need writing.
The issue is if I am able to see installed wine versions and prefix folder, when I run it wine crash. Debug mode tell me that I am not the owner of the folder. So I am stuck as I obviously don't want to change ownership and make sure several users can run this app.
Is there any way to share application with PlayOnLinux???
Cheers
