I'm trying to move my main desktop to Ubuntu...and thought I had a great solution to be able to use IE8 for a particular website on our corporate intranet using POL and IE8.  Unfortunately, when prompted for login to this particular site, it never passes the login credentials through.  There's no prompt for the realm (i'm assuming domain), so i've tried every combination of user name, domain\\user name, domain.com\\user name, but nothing seems to pass through.

Is there a simple fix i'm missing?

Hi,
Ask your network administrator, maybe you need to join some Active Directory domain or something...
I haven't the slightest idea if that can be made to work with such setup then; The Linux host can be setup to use Kerberos, but I have no idea if Wine can use that.

What's weird is that if I go to the same site using the POL version of Firefox, I get prompted, enter my credentials (with no domain specification) and it works. The credentials issue is only with IE.

I figured i might get around it by joining the domain, but the intent was to keep this machine off the domain but RDP into a VM for most of my work...and hopefully do the rest of the web work natively, but so far no luck.
