I have installed Office 2010 using PlayOnLinux. My system: OS: Manjaro 18.1.1, DE: Xfce 4.14
The problem is that fonts looks like in bold if their size is relatively small (16-12 pt for TimesNewRoman) .No matter if i reduce font size in font settings or just reduce the page zoom. And if i continue to reduce the fonts' size (smaller than 12), they looks like the anti-aliasing is off.
Later I noticed that this behaviour is observed only if I start a new empty word file. If i open an existing document, the all fonts looks normal (like in Windows) and smoothed, with no regard to their size.
I found that if the starting script in Word desktop or "Open with.." context menu is:
Exec=/usr/share/playonlinux/playonlinux --run "Microsoft Word 2010" %F
then the fonts behave as i described - the are not anti-aliased at small sizes.
But if the starting script is :
Exec=env WINEPREFIX="/home/stanislav/.PlayOnLinux//wineprefix/Office2010" wine start /ProgIDOpen Word.Document.12 %f
then everything is OK. The fonts looks normally smoothed at any size.
The problem with the second script is that it doesnt work when I try to open an empty new document. Word just did not start.
And i dont know why these two scripts leads to different font rendering
Anyway, this doesnt depend on the wine version, fonts lokation, and fontsmoothing winetricks. And this looks like a PlayOnLinux bug.
