Apologies if there is a thread devoted to this.

Almost total Ubuntu newb just thought I'd try and run a game or two via playonlinux, installed Oblivion fine (without shivering isles) and using a cd (not downloaded copy). It seems to install fine, however when I try to run it, the launcher loads. When I click play it comes up with "unable to find a cd-rom/dvd drive on this computer."

I've tried another game (Age of Empires 2) and it also installs fine but doesn't detect the dvd drive.

Any help would be gratefully recieved. Thanks in advance

Wine do not (and will never) handle copy protections so you have to use a crack. Because of European laws, we cannot help you with this, you have to do it by yourself.
