Just checking to see if anyone's had any luck getting wildstar to work?

I tried it with 1.7.17 which worked for the most part according to winehq's app db.

It says to install ie8 and winhttp via winetricks but POL doesn't seem to have an option for winhttp so I used wininet instead. Didn't seem to work.. the installer just spins around. (Stack trace seems unhelpful.. will post below)

Anyone had better results? If so, can you share how you succeeded?

Wildstar looks awesome!  I hope someone can get this game working in PlayOnLinux.

Can you post the entire debug?
What is your system specs:  Distro, 64-bit or 32-bit, Video chip/card, etc

Can you run other games in PlayOnLinux?

What distro, video card/chip are you using?

Did you install the proprietary drivers for your video card/chip?

Is your distro 32-bit or 64-bit?

I'm using the proprietary dirvers.

I have a i5 2500k and a Geforce GTX 570.

I'm on Ubunutu 14.04 64 bits but due to an issue with ie8 I use the game in a 32 bit configuration and a 32 bits virtual environnement.

No problem, I use 32-bit Wine and 32-bit virtual drives for every game.
Can you post your debug so we can see what the errors are?

  1. Open PlayOnLinux
  2. Select Game
  3. Click Debug (instead of Run)
  4. After the game crashes, copy all of the output from the debug window
  5. paste here or on pastebin and link here

"After the game crashes, copy all of the output from the debug window"

The game doesn't crash. On linux I choosed "very low" in my settings and the game runs at 5 frames per second. On windows I choosed "high" and the game lag.

here the playonlinux log: https://mega.co.nz/#!iohEATCB!rAM8Hg3wuuM6L4qmvFz33cAsD2drN-___MV3vZxEf04

I can't, it's too big. But there is some lines who repeat themself a lot like :

fixme:d3d:load_numbered_arrays Unsupported WINED3DDECLTYPE_FLOAT16_4

fixme:d3d_texture:wined3d_texture_generate_mipmaps texture 0xaa30070 stub!

fixme:d3d:resource_check_usage Unhandled usage flags 0x8.

fixme:d3d_texture:wined3d_texture_generate_mipmaps texture 0x5426c68 stub!

fixme:d3d:load_numbered_arrays Unsupported WINED3DDECLTYPE_FLOAT16_4

That last line is 75% of the log file....

Hmm, try using a different version of Wine and try installing the PlayOnLinux package:  dxfullsetup

Normally "fixme" isn't a huge problem, its the "err" outputs that show you what is wrong.

I installed dxfullsetup and try with wine 1.7.22 instead of 1.7.17.

The probleme is still there, I paste you right here the "err" outuputs on the log file:

err:ole:CoGetClassObject class {6c736db1-bd94-11d0-8a23-00aa00b58e10} not registered
err:ole:CoGetClassObject no class object {6c736db1-bd94-11d0-8a23-00aa00b58e10} could be created for context 0x1

err:winediag:IcmpCreateFile Failed to use ICMP (network ping), this requires special permissions.

I don't now if that's helping you. Wich version of wine are you using?

I'm not actually playing it, but troubleshooting from experience with lots of games.

I'm kinda at a loss why its running so slow
Those errors are pretty typical but I'll look into the "ICMP" network ping error.

Apparently there is a chance you can get banned by playing Wildstar in Wine:  WineHQ

A few suggestions on WineHQs was to disable GLSL in PlayOnLinux configure
or use Wine 1.7.4-CMST but you have to enable CMST in the registry for it to have effect.

I use the command

winetricks glsl=disabled

And I put Wine 1.7.4-CMST (but I didn't enable CMST) and it work!!!

I still have some lag when I choose "high" in the graphicks (I try "very high" on windows and it work juste fine) but whe I'm in "medium" I can play the game nicely!

So thank you for your help and your warning about de ban. I'll try the new version of wine and I'll follow the board to see if there is any other thing to do to ecrase the performance of the game.

Thank you again.

Awesome!  Glad its working now.  You may want to try enabling CMST in the registry as well, but if its working anyways, thats is GREAT.

Don't forget to mark this post as "solved"

@Quentin Tank you I didn't notice GLSL the first time. I disabled it in configuration.

@booman I don't know how to enable CMST. Can you help me?

About the post I can't mark this as solved beacuse it's not my post. It is the post of vinisosity.

Ooops forgot someone else created this post.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareWineDirect3D]
"CSMT"="enabled"

CMST:

  1. Launch PlayOnLinux
  2. Select Wildstar
  3. Click Configure
  4. Click Wine Tab
  5. Click Registry Editor
  6. Expand  HKEY_CURRENT_USERS
  7. Expand Software
  8. Expand Wine
  9. Expand Direct3D
  10. Right-click select New
  11. Click String Value
  12. Type:  CMST
  13. Double-click to open
  14. Type:  enabled
  15. Close Registry Editor
  16. Click "Reboot Windows"

That should do it, but not sure if it will do anything.  Every time I have used CMST I get artifacts.
