Need opinion on MacBook Air M2 Gaming

I am a very long term Mac user and never thought of gaming on Mac. But now I like to emulate and play some of my digitally owned ps2 titles on my MacBook Air M2. But afraid of losing battery life/health. Some suggesting keep Mac charging while on gaming and optimised battery charging enabled. Some ask me to install Aldante.. So I want your help and guidance in this
