Server-joining problem

Hello!

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and using optirun playonlinux, then I open up Steam and L4D2. The game runs fine on local servers, campaign etc. - but I can't join any dedicated servers, because the game loads to 100% and then just shuts down without any errors etc.

I don't know what might have caused this. Suggestions?

This is NOT a general error with my connection/router - my friend's L4D2 works fine on my network.
