Hey im new at this and i just downloaded itunes 7 using play on linux connected my ipod nano and selected use a play on linux, but it said no sutible application to use to manage the ipod how do i use itunes on linux to manage my ipod nano

Again forget it WIne doesn't implement USB.
iTunes can just be installed to play proprietary file formats.

You should look on software using libgpod, their wiki page say doesn't work with nano 6g but trying with the git maybe it works..

But as petch say, for the moment Wine does not support USB, have a look on http://www.gtkpod.org/

i tryed gtk it doesnt work :(
