Heroes Chronicles Install error

Looking for some help installing a game (Heroes Chronicles, all chapters) with Play on Mac. I downloaded the game from GOG.com and got a .exe file. The file opens with play on mac just fine, but I get an error message while trying to do the install. The error message reads: 

Runtime error (at 184:148):

Access violation at address 44a85a1e in module 'gdiplus.dll'. Read of address 06c66f3c. 

After this error comes up the installation stops and I get a screen with a frowny face on it telling there is an error in POL_WINE and that wine has crashed. I am new to all of this so I don't know what my next course of action should be. Possibly configuring WINE before install? Any and all help appreciated.

Hi,
All new GOG installers ("v2") require functions from the gdiplus DLL ( http://www.playonlinux.com/en/commentaires-1111.html ).
You can either use a Wine version >= 1.5.9, that implements enough of the gdiplus API so that the installer doesn't crash; but some of the installer interface is black, because part of the implementation is just a declaration ("stubs").
Or you can install Windows' gdiplus.dll with the gdiplus "component", either by selection "install components" option then "POL_Install_gdiplus" during manual installations, or using the "components" tab in the Configure window (Configure button > select virtual drive > Install components tab > gdiplus).
GOG install scripts call the POL_GoG_install function, that among things install the gdiplus component and work around the problem silently.
