How to create a 64 bit virtual drive?

I'm trying to create a new virtual drive that is 64 bit. I have installed Wine 2.1 (which, if I understand correctly, has 64 bit support.) But, whenever I click the "+" to make a new drive, it always goes back to 32 bit. Any ideas? I'm on a Mac, OS X El Capitan. Thanks.

Wine64 is completely separate to the 'standard' Wine 32 bit builds, so no there is no compatibility built in to the standard 'version' of Wine.  As far as I know, PlayOnLinux/Mac doesn't provide the 64 bit builds yet.
