Just make sure to download and install the current version of PlayOnLinux: 4.3.4
I found loading 4.3.4 did not work for me. Loading 4.2.12 from the software manager worked.
Haven't tried reloading 4.3.4 though.

If 4.2.12 is working, then installing 4.3.4 should remove any older versions.
What was the problem you were experiencing?
The biggest problem with older versions is the Wine manager and Package manager. Neither of them are working properly
