Does anyone mostly play while charging?

I just got a MBP M3 Pro and want to play BG3, RE4, and other smaller indie games. I noticed how hot the computer gets while playing and how quickly it drains the battery. Should I play only when plugged in or will that cause long term issues with the battery due to the heat? Thanks in advance https://routerlogin.uno/ !
