winetricks --no-isolate vcrun2008 is useless. PlayOnLinux installs vcrun2008. Please avoid mixing winetricks and PlayOnLinux

Moreover Setarch is now longer needed

Hi, followed your instructions and I'm still stuck at 'authenticating credentials'. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 with Ati 6850

EDIT:

The game worked fine yesterday with steady ~40 FPS. Today it just froze after typing 'echo 0|sudo tee /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope' and hitting 'Login'.

I updated Wine version to '1.5.5-DiabloIII_v3' and tried running 'Install packages -> VideoDriver' from POL with no luck. Still stuck either at 'authenticating credentials' or if I enter the terminal command it just freezes.

Hopefully the bug is found and it'll get fixed.

edit: new version of wine does obsolete setarch

1.7.4 doesn't even work for me WITH setarch. the game allways hangs on the "retreiving character list" step during login. The only thing that works for me is using wine version 1.5.5-DIablo III. But with this multiplayer is like a diashow so nearly unplayable for me. I know about "sudo sysctl kernel.yama.ptrace_scope=0". But even with that set, i can't login with any other version than 1.5.5-Diablo III. I would like to test the newest wine version in multiplayer to see if that is playable. Any ideas?
 
Btw. im using manjaro 64 Bit linux. but the described behaviour is allways the same for me. Regardless what distro i use. i tried ubuntu(diffrent flavors), openSUSE, pure ARCH linux and now Manjaro. please help to get Diablo 3 Reaper of souls allways running reliable with the newest wine version(s) - and if that is not possible, can't you provide an allways up to date patched version? something like 1.7.24-Diablo III? That would be nice. Thank you
