I installed ms office 2010 through playonlinux in kubuntu 12.10, and when I try to activate it offline I get a message stating : 

"OAU Error : Cocreate Instance Failed" (click ok)

-after which the program closes.  I installed it with a genuine microsoft disc and product key, but the activation hasn't worked yet.  I've tried the online one, but I'm currently in China and the progam (office) doesn't seem to contact microsofts website correctly.  My guess would be that setting my language preference to American English in the install phase alters which server the activation program contacts.
