steam won't install

so im trying to install steam on playonmac right. suddenly while im going to install it wine just crashes. so im all like, okay. weird. so i click next, and another error messages comes up. and it says this:

Error in POL_Shortcut

Binary not found: Steam.exe

Have you installed the program to the default location?

so I click next, and it just closes. can anybody help with this?????

I actually signed up for an account to post thi to the forum. Same error. I'm running Monterey 12.6.3 if that makes any difference
