I have looked everywhere google could possibly take me, as well as other forums. I have found no helpful tips except to stay at patch 1.5.12.

Lenovo T420 (i5 core, 16GB RAM, Ubuntu 13.10 x64, wine 1.6)

Sorry I have no bug file to show

I"m guessing you are referring to Guild Wars 2?
I'm sure you already looked here on WineHQs
That is a lot of instructions for Wine users. We got it easy with PlayOnLinux.

Maybe if you post the Debug output it will give us a clue what is going on...

I know I know. I am a broken record.. haha.

That being said, we need you to read the stickies at the top of the forum (marked READ BEFORE POSTING), as they tell you what we need to troubleshoot your issue. Without ALL of the info listed in the rules and stickies, we have no clue whats going on, and anything would be a guess. Not to mention your description is vague, your computer specs are lacking detail regarding your graphics setup, etc..

Please. read the stickies, and post accordingly with the information requested in said rules/stickies, and we can figure out whats going on here.

I have the problem is i'm fairly new and wasn't sure if my WHOLE system froze that there would be a report at all... I am fairly new to Linux as well. I'm terribly sorry if I did not read anything properly

Thats ok...
Just start with your specs:
Linux Distro:
Video Card:
PlayOnLinux version:
Wine Version:
Libraries installed:

If you installed with a PlayOnLinux script, then it installed the libraries for you.  But you can always check to see which ones were installed here:
  1. Launch PlayOnLinux
  2. Click Configure
  3. Select GW2 virtual drive
  4. Click Wine Tab
  5. Click Configure Wine
  6. Click Libraries Tab
  7. Go down the list of installed libraries
You don't have to list all of them.  Most will be d3dx, but it helps if you list the other ones like IE8, dotnet, mono, gdiplus, etc.

Okay
Linux Distro:Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy
Video Card:Intel HD Graphics 3000
PlayOnLinux version: 4.2.1?(Latest stable i know for sure)
Wine Version: 1.6 (As due ubuntu)
Libraries installed:d3d10, Core, 8, 9, compiler_33-43, im, rm,
d3dx10_33-43,
d3dx9_24-43
d3dxof
gdiplus

Out of what you mentioned thats all I can find. Sorry like I said fairly new to linux. So not too positive on other things, but not mono, dotnet, or IE8

DJyosh,
I understand :) Its frustrating to not know the whole picture with such little. Thank you though for the reply!

ok, cool, that is a start.
I'm guessing your HD Graphics 3000 may be the problem.
It would be a good idea to search online and see if Guild Wars 2 supports that Intel chip.

I have an HD 2000 in my Chromebook running ChrUbuntu 12.04 and most games won't play.

I play it on win7 perfectly fine (I understand that is no constellation but still) and on patch 1.5.12 it runs perfectly fine except the graphics are not as superb... Which i understand is just the release/linux. And the launcher crash(which I see is just a known wine bug). The problem I'm running into is when I hit run on PoL with patch 1.5.12 it runs wooh! Go anything higher after I hit run my whole screen freezes I can move mouse but I have to force restart via power button to gain any type of functionality back. Not even a black or blank screen pops up the screen goes to as if it wants to start then.... nothing. And I see the desktop.

I was just going to say the same thing. You may not have enough power to run that game.

as for mono and .net, all wine versions after 1.5.3 (I think. something like that) use winemono, which should be automatically downloaded and installed when you create the virtual drive. That takes care of most .NET stuff. Well, it does what it can. You never want to install .NET .exe installers in any virtual drive with mono already installed, as it will just break stuff.

As for frustrating me, Im not frustrated. hahaha. Im all good. Just making sure people read them, as it makes everyones day easier, and gives us exactly what we need to troubleshoot. Specifically, the debug output would be great. The stickies will tell you how to obtain it. That will totally help out with figuring out what is wrong.

Again, its most likely that graphics card being not being powerful enough, but Im not sure, as I dont play that specific game.

Ok, so GW2 does support the HD 3000 chip, but I wonder if Intel has current Linux drivers that support OpenGL for GW2?
That is where we have problems... if Intel doesn't release drivers for Linux, then some games suffer and just don't work.

Can you post Debug output so we can see what errors are appearing when launching GW2?

It does. 13.10 has a newer X server, kernel, and DRM/graphics stack, and the intel drivers are built into the graphics stack now. There are no proprietary drivers, per se, for Intel, as they are open source.

@Incarnated - Is your system full updated? Do you have the newest version of Mesa, the kernel, and X?

Please post the output of these commands ran from a terminal:

glxinfo | grep render
X -version
xrandr --version
uname -r

You really should already have Mesa installed, as if I remember, its a dependency for libdrm and the Intel drivers. But its good to check anyway.

Ah, I bet it crashed randomly but Wineserver was still running. So when you launched the game again it was trying to launch with the crashed Wine.
Make sure to kill all wine processes before launching the game again.

What is with all the keyboard errors? Do you have a fancy keyboard?

Ah, 32-bit libraries!

Did you install Multiarch in Ubuntu?
Since you are running a 64-bit operating system and games are 32-bit, you will need those libraries to run games
