I installede Anno 1404, with the POL script.
I the used a no-cd crack

But when I try to lunch the game, i fet the follwing message:

- Failed to initalize Directx


Anybody knows what is wrong?

have you got a Nvidia graphic card?

Ok, i think that it's the reason. Because, i have a GTX275 and i have the same problem. Or, before, i had an ATI 4850HD and the game runs fine.

I don't know if it's the main reason.

Switch to DirectX 9 mode:
* Locate the Engine.ini file (drive_c/Program Files/Ubisoft/Related Designs/ANNO 1404/)
* Edit or add a key named DirectXVersion and set the value to 9
* The file should look similar to this: http://pastebin.com/7E5jSXnA
