I am trying to run Portal on Ubuntu 9.10. I installed play on linux and the game through steam. The game works, except I have no audio.

I have done the following so far:

Uninstall pulse-audio.
Start up playonlinux.
Click configure.
Configure wine.
Select Alsa, and test sound it works.
Start Portal, no sound.
If I then exit portal, I only have Alsa for an option (OSS, JACK and NAS no longer show up). If I test sound again, it will no longer work.

I can repeat all of the above with OSS, and it has the same results.

What can I do to get the sound working?
