Try running Far Cry 3 in Fullscreen but make sure to enable "virtual desktop" in Wine configuration.
Set the "virtual desktop" resolution to match your Linux Desktop.

The game should appear fullscreen and the mouse should rotate your character 360 degrees

If that does not work, refer to Petch's post about the actual Wine bug. I agree with Booman, as the virtual screen can fix that, but ideally Wine should be able to handle it without a virtual desktop. Ideally. ;)

I wish Wine would handle the mouse.  Out of habit, I check "virtual desktop" and "capture mouse in fullscreen windows" for every game.  I hope one day Wine can handle windows and the mouse like it should.

Same problem here and the refernence to a wine buf in the previos post fixed the issue  -- THANKS

here is my laymans terms of the solution

FarCry 3 : Emulate a virtual desktop in winecfg does not work,
• you must to disable Fullscreen in this file (~//My Games/Far Cry 3/GamerProfile.xml)

- this means change

   - <GamerProfile>
    <SoundProfile MusicEnabled="1" MasterVolume="100" MicEnabled="1" IncomingVoiceEnabled="1" Language="english" />
    <RenderProfile MSAALevel="0" AlphaToCoverage="2" SSAOLevel="6" SDSM="0" ResolutionX="1920" ResolutionY="1080" Quality="low" QualityEditor="editor_ps3" Fullscreen="1"

... to ....Fullscreen="0"

Ah yes, I have done this with some games as well.  Edit options in a config file.  Sucks that you have to see the window border instead of appearing full screen

Hi guys, I'm sort of a noob with all this. I'm trying to install Far Cry 3 (retail PC-DVD version) on my machine using PlayOnLinux, and I'm able to execute the setup.exe file, but always hit a road block with the "missing" DATA10.CAB file. And thus the install always fails. How do I fix this?

I'm currently using Xubuntu 14.04, and the PlayOnLinux version is 4.2.2 . I've noticed that just before the install asks for the next disc (which is supposed to contain the missing file), this happens right after it installs the Italian language file - which is equally perplexing since I don't read/write/speak Italian. And the next Disc 2 only has PDF files on it. I have successfully installed and played this game on a Win 7 os - before I upgraded to Linux - so I know the retail discs work. I no longer have Win 7. I'm wondering if the missing data10.cab file is left out on purpose so as to force the owner to download it from Uplay as a form of anti-piracy.

Or should I just get rid of that retail version and download a hacked "blackbox" version?

The best thing you can do is copy all of the DVD files to a folder on the desktop and install it from there.
This way it won't need to enter multiple disks
