Cursor not moving

Hi there.

I am trying to get Stalker Call of Chernobyl (it is a standalone mod Stalker Call of Pripyat) working correctly

I have:

  • a 64-bit linux mint 18.3
  • intel i5
  • Nvidia GTX660
  • Driver 384.90-0ubuntu0.16.04.2

and setted:

  • 64-bit prefix
  • wine 2.22
  • Installed steam and Call of Pripyat
  • windows vista

When I start the game most things seems to work, I even managed to play a little.

But the cursor is not working. When in the main menu or in-game inventory, the cursor will be stuck in the middle of the screen. If I drag the mouse hard enough the cursor will move but then will instantly reset to the middle of the screen again.

It is only in the main menu and in-game inventory. In the virtual desktop it works. Hell in-game the mouse works fine changing the camera, it is just the cursor.

This is what prevents me of playing the game.

I don't understand what is happening. It worked flawlesly on my linux mint before I formated it.

I've tried installing in a 32bit prefix, simulate a virtual desktop option and automatically capture mouse option.

Nothing works.

I've tried installing dinput8.
When native and then embedded, the cursor stops moving completly and in game the camera becomes incontrolable, so I removed it. 

I've tried removing the mouse acceleration with the command

xset m default

Didn't felt a difference and nothing changed in the game.

Any ideas?

What engine game using? if using unity. Unity has mouse issues.


Using Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS and latest Playonlinux.
