What will it take to get our amazing PlayOnLinux developers to update the Packages/Components installer so we can use them for our Games and Applications?

The Package Installer is one of the most important features in PlayOnLinux because it downloads and installs required DLLs, Patches and necessary components for many many many games to run.

Without them we can't play games.

There are work-arounds where you can use Winetricks to install required packages, but it is manual and quite a pain.

Script are sometimes based on winetrick, we need to write additional script for the newer version that we don't support now. And we need to test them. The dev are quite focused on the v5 and v4 script aren't all up-to-date. I didn't check for v5 script for the new package but that's planned. btw the v5 may arrive soon.

If you want to help, you can check how the previous script work, see winetrick, compare and check how to write for a new one. I already try once but get some errors :/

I would love to help, but I'm pretty weak when it comes to scripting.

I may have some friends who can help.  Where do we find the Package Installer scripts and Winetricks Scripts?

If we can update some of these scripts to fix the "File Mismatch" can you update them in PlayOnLinux?
