OK, do you know what changes were made to it for it to work? I am asking because it also makes Star Trek Generations work

Patch is available from https://github.com/PlayOnLinux/wine-patches/blob/master/custom/ddraw/00-ddraw.patch

Have you tried setting directdraw rendering to gdi?
If that works, then from my reading of the comments in the patch it's better to use that other, less adhoc, solution.

yeah i did try setting gdi but it didnt help, this wine engine does work though
