Hello

Quite new to PlayOnMac but I was trying to install Heroes of Might and Magic 3 to get me through Corona-quarantine.

I bought the game from gog.com, but when I try to install it, it comes up with this error:

Does anybody have a fix for it?

Thanks in advance

Are you using this script ? : https://www.playonlinux.com/en/app-1518-GOGcom__Heroes_of_Might_and_Magic_3_Complete.html

If so, then the corrupted file is called by this POL function: https://www.playonlinux.com/en/app-518-POL_Install_gdiplus.html

I have redownload then checked the file (KB975337) and it is Ok (same checksum as in the script), so I think that error you get was when the file transferred, or is related to your storage (ie: error on HDD ).

Thank you for responding.

So the error is regarding the local file on my mac? I've just downloaded the game from gog.com, and done nothing with the .exe-file except moving it from downloads from desktop.

I've used the script from january 2020 in the link you posted, but it cannot find the local file, and if I press next Wine crashes.

The corrupted file is not into your game, but into a file called by this function: https://www.playonlinux.com/en/app-518-POL_Install_gdiplus.html

Into ./Playonmac/  I suggest to find the file 'WindowsXP-KB975337-x86-ENU.exe' then to delete it. The function will re download it.

Hi again

I'm sorry if I'm slow, but I can't seem to find the file.

I chose PlayOnMac from my programs, right-clicked and chose show content of package and ran a file seach for the file, but nothing showed up. I looked around quite a lot, but I can't locate it. Is it possible that you could be more specific to help a noob like me?

Thank you :-)

I'm not familiar with OSX, the folder '.PlayonMac' is usually hidden on the disk.

Hi

I've tried to locate the folder and file amongst the hidden files on Macintosh HD. No luck.

If anyone knows where to find it please let me know.

I've run into the exact same problems as this guy. Downloaded the game from Gog. Then ran the latest update from this site: https://www.playonlinux.com/en/app-1518-GOGcom__Heroes_of_Might_and_Magic_3_Complete.html

Then the installer runs into an error when trying to get the 'windowsXP-KB975337-x86-ENU.exe' file.

Hello!

I have the exact same problem. Please help anyone! This is totally stopping me, and I do not know what is the case here :-(

The above mentioned file cannot be found in my system at all. Is there any way I can download it an "plug it" into the installation process? I have found the PlayOnMac folder, it is located under /Users/<myuser>/Library/PlayOnMac

(Library is a hidden folder, btw.)

It seems that the file is not available where the script is trying to download it from?

@Dadu042, you mention this in a script, and it seems there is a version of the script that tries to get the file from somewhere else? How can this be applied in practice?
