The actual purpose of Mac gaming

A lot of people miss the point of Mac gaming. There’s a lot of “why did you buy a Mac to game?” thrown about without people realising that isn’t the case at all.

I think I speak for most of us when I say that we bought a Mac because, apart from gaming specifically, they excel at everything. Especially on the Macbook side, I don’t think anyone will disagree with me when I say that the overall package you get makes it the best laptop on the market. Even if we were to ignore the excellent build quality, screen, speakers, etc, the M series chips themselves and the battery life they provide despite how incredibly powerful they are is major selling point in itself.

So why do we try to game on them? Because we want a machine that excels at everything else, but is still able to let us have some downtime. We don’t want to settle for a hot, loud and flashy gaming laptop just because we occasionally do some gaming on the side. It’s the side show, not the main feature. It’s not for the hardcore, it’s for the casuals, the 9-5ers, the students, the busy people. That’s the point of Mac gaming.
