While running the application AvsPmod the spacebar is not working correctly in the main window and is doing other functions instead of acting as the space bar. All other aspects of this application seem to run fine aside from the spacebar (which works fine in native Windows and Wine for Unbuntu). Spacebar is working normally in other applications in the same wine instance.

Just an update on this issue, it is also not working for manually installed wine for OSX as well.

If that is doing on just Wine (not PlayOnMac), then I would file a bug report with winehq and see if there is something that needs to be worked on their end (unless someone else here has a fix for this).
