Has anyone had success running Age of Empires II DE with playonmac? I am currently running 10.14 Mojave and playonmac 5.5 Staging. I frequently use playonmac to run Age of Empires II HD (2013) and would like to know if anyone has had success running DE before I purchase it.

I tried, but experienced significant lag even on lower settings. My fix involved upgrading to a newer macOS (Big Sur) and using a Wineskin wrapper instead. It's now running decently!

I'm curious if anyone's tackled Age of Empires II DE on PlayOnMac. I'm on Mojave 10.14 with PlayOnMac 5.5 Staging, and the older HD version runs well. Before I buy DE, I wondered if it's even feasible. It's a bit like navigating those tricky slopes in Snow Rider 3D - you need to know if it's possible before you commit! Any success stories out there?
