Hi, my name is Mariano. I'm running PinguyOS. I'm trying to install Portal 2 but I can't before the installation starts. I took a screenshot.
I also had problems at installing IE 7. I got an error when it downloads the updates, the file that gave me an error was update.exe

I have installed the lasts versions of Wine and PlayOnLinux.

I will check this out and fix it this week-end if possible, thx for reporting.

BTW, I already spotted that this is an x86 only problem, on x64 OS, there is no error with vcrun2010.

I checked the whole thing, it work perfect no matter what I try, there is nothing to fix...

Try to delete ressources folder's content, this will force PoL to download again vcrun2010 binaries.

It must work because I've seen people playing Portal 2 on Linux but I don't know why It doesn't work on my computer.
Anyways, I found a directory called 'resources' in /usr/share/playonlinux/ but it has 2 folders inside called 'images' and 'sounds' but as far as I know, I don't think I should delete it.

It's in $HOME/.PlayOnLinux/ that you must delete ressources folder content.

Sorry. I had a couple of problems.

I have just done what you said but I still got the same error :/

First try just in Wine with the last version (i've installed it without POL) if the problem persists is not Wine or POL.
