I'm currently using wine 1.5.18- League of Legends on NA. And every time I get into the actual game, it freezes after a few seconds. I am on Arch Linux x64. Thanks.

Can you run it playonlinux from the terminal, and post the output after the freeze? Also, are you using the script to run/install LoL, or just that wine version?

I also installed and am running via the script.

And yes, ATI 4650.

Which drivers are you using?

Catalyst legacy 13.1

I had exactly the same issue using those drivers, and my GPU is also HD4650.

I am unsure whether there is a known way of fixing this on this card - I looked for quite some time, tried few fixes which supposedly helped with numerous ATI cards, but none worked for me.

I am pretty sure though that it works under opensource drivers. Around 30 FPS on lowest settings, 1280x1024. It does have a tendency to become choppy when it gets heated. You might also try 12.6 drivers - if I am correct these are the last ones which supported HD4000 series. But these will require some tinkering if you run a fresh kernel release. Or downgrading your running kernel to 3.4.

Anyway, I will be trying out the Legacy drivers on my new sys - gonna post what happens.

When I had Catalyst 12.6 back in November of last year, the game played pretty well minus the shop. But ever since I reinstalled Arch, it hasn't been working since.

Yeah. Unfortunately that happens. Although with some proprietary manufacturers more that others. :(

Well I've installed xf86-video-ati instead of Catalyst. The problem no longer occurs. And my framerates vary between 35-45 fps. Thanks for your help guys.
