Issue installing Diablo III

Hi all,

I'm trying to install Diablo III with PoL, but no success so far. I open PoL, click on "Install a program" and select "Diablo III" from the list. Then I select the .exe installer I just downloaded from battle.net. It then gets stuck for a long time with the message:
"Updating Battle.net Agent..."

After a while, it gives the error:
"Something went wrong while trying to launch a program. Please wait one minute and try again. If it happens again, try restarting your computer. Get Help: BLZAPPBTS00007 <https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/BLZBNTBTS00007>"

I think this is because Blizzard recently changed the launcher, so instead of the good'ol Diablo III launcher, it now uses the new all-blizzard-games-launcher. Digging in the logs, I see this:
Executing operation: disable_firewall
applicationPath="C:\users\Public\Application
Data\Battle.net\Agent\Agent.2380\Agent.exe" applicationName="Battle.net
Update Agent"
AgentAsAdmin failed to add a firewall exception for 'C:\users\Public\Application Data\Battle.net\Agent\Agent.2380\Agent.exe'.

and this repeatedly:
err:wininet:open_http_connection create_netconn failed: 12029

Am I right to think this is the cause? How can I fix it? I'm running Debian Jessie 64-bits and PlayOnLinux 4.2.1, if it helps.

Thanks

Thank you for posting your specs

Can you play any other games in PlayOnLinux?
What video card/chip are you using?
Do you have your video drivers installed?
Did you install the 32-bit libraries?

Battle.net is a common problem with PlayonLinux and Wine.  I have seen posts for others who have gotten it to work, but you are right, an update may have broken how Wine installs and configures it.
I suggest installing a again with a manual install.

Here is a step-by-step video that may shed some light for you:  Diablo III
